My son is an EMT and just called me and said there is a fire at Oyster Creek nuke power plant on the New Jersey shore. No other info now available.
Yikes. That’s all we need. God be with your son and all involved.
Let us hope any mishaps are of no consequence.
With Oyster Creek shut down for refueling starting last week, hot fuel may have been placed in the fuel pool quite recently.
The unit at Oyster Creek is the same as Fukushima Daiichi No. 1: Oyster Creek is one of the oldest US nuclear plants and is the same design as Fukushima unit 1. -SimplyInfo

What’s wrong with FR? very slow.
John is working on it... thought to be part of the cause of major-slow-downs we experienced during the debates. We all hope he finds the cause soon!!
Which nuke? I’m a former nuke...
Hmmm... this sounds severe. We might have to to postpone the election...

My elder boy is at the Two Rivers, Ws plant, he is ex-nuke, subs.
Google News has no such story...at least not yet.
Could this be false reporting?
I suspect there will be a lot of false stories, just as during Katrina.
Ugh. That’s because you’re using Google. Bing has some recent news about an event but not specifically a fire.

Oyster Creek, in New Jersey, declared an alert due to high intake water level. Water will likely recede within a few hours.
Note that the unit is off line for refueling at this time.
