Greenberg has, in fact, actively interjected himself as an American progressive into the politics of Israel as an anti-Bibi pied piper.

I can’t believe Israel doesn’t just send him to Libya, Afghanistan or Iraq when he tries to enter the country.

While Netanyahu's reelection prospects are looking far better than Obama's, a major factor in Obama's Middle East policy is getting rid of Netanyahu. The Labor party has hired Stanley Greenberg, a leading Democratic political strategist, to direct its campaign in the upcoming elections for Knesset. Greenberg, along with partners James Carville and Robert Shrum, helped Labor under Ehud Barak defeat Netanyahu in the 1999 elections. Previously, then-President Bill Clinton was reportedly active in creating rifts within Netanyahu's coalition, hastening its downfall. The pattern of action may be repeating itself, as Greenberg appears to have played a key role in destabilizing Netanyahu's present government as well.

I remember seeing stories about this years ago. Carville/Greenberg worked for Ehud Barak against Netanyahu. I think Netanyahu lost but eventually came back stronger.

They could not have succeeded had the corrupt labor party, at carville and greenberg’s suggestion, not filed false criminal charges against Netanyahu. They were not satisfied to unseat him to have a clinton toady as PM. They wanted to destroy Netanyahu utterly so that he could never run for office again.
It took literally years before the ‘investigation’ finally concluded that there was absolutely NO EVIDENCE to suggest corruption on Netanyahu’s part. He spent most of those years in the US. They completely cleared him and within an hour, he was on a plane back to Israel to fight another day.

Perhaps conceding defeat in the current US election, the next objective of the 'Rats is to take Netanyahu down in Israel. Their idea is to see to it that Romney in the White House will not have his old pal Netanyahu in power in Israel, and thereby throw another monkey wrench into the US-Israel relationship.

The 'Rats would never admit to such a long-term strategy, of course, but they could be envisioning tensions between a Romney Administration and a prospective leftist Israeli government as beneficial to them politically in the US sometime down the road.

But I don't think that the Israeli electorate will fall for this attempted outside manipulation of their election this time around. And all pro-Israel Americans should condemn this intervention wholeheartedly. Israeli elections should be conducted by Israelis, not by outsiders.
