Why should my well-informed, conservative sister-in-law who has been lurking regularly at FR for months, if not years now, sign up for an account here? For some reason, she is reluctant. Help me convince her with some good FReeper common sense and humour, and I'll show her this thread later.
P.S. Tonight I may have recruited a very well informed, conservative neighbour to join the forces too. :) We went to the Israel Awareness event at Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, CO and she got a signed book by Pastor John Hagee.

I’ve been here over a decade, and lurked even longer. Being married to a pilot and having lived all over the world, I’ve really appreciated the world wide, breaking news coverage. Nothing matches a Freeper on the scene. We get to the truth and meat of the news. We also have outstanding intellectual resources to analyze the news and/or experience to give insight into it. (This commercial was not approved by Jim Rob. No animals were harmed in the making.)

Granted much of the forum is back slapping echo chamber but on contentious issues its a blood sport with lightning casualties
In the old days it was about being informed and not saying something ignorant....that has ebbed.....now its more about the tide
Its a tough room considering its mostly older married or widowed women and single men who predominate
I have been here so long defending what i bloviate is second nature like a lawyer.....and i dont lie or opine on the fly....there are indeed great minds watching
Hence we all tend to clique and freepmail with like minded souls and over the years respond to familiar faces with more deference
I never purposely argue with my inner circle here.....that is the precious part we all cherish really
Anyhow.....no one should dive in here unless prepared to defend a position strongly and keep informed

She jumped in WD. You are not going to believe this, but I was telling her about you last night or sometime recently. You are absolutely one of my favourite posters on FR. I was just looking at your posts last night as a matter of fact. I love your writing style, intelligence, and insight. So she’s in. She doesn’t have to post if she’s too timid, but now I can ping to her and send her FR mails! So much fun.
