I used to get old Dodge Darts as my $100 cars that last forever. Unfortunately, that stopped working when I moved to Illinois, where Road Salt is the state's main crop for 5 months a year. Body cancer sets in real fast, even with undercarriage washing.
And no, Mercedes-Benz cars aren't immune.
Nice car, by the way. Stately.

Best looking $100 car I’ve ever seen right there!
Back in the good ol’ days, I knew some guys that always had junk cars around. I would just buy me a mid-1970s model LTD or Impala for $100-$500 and drive until it falls apart. Not exactly a babe magnet or anything, but it would get you there! I’d usually get about a year or so out of one. I’d always keep the title in the glove compartment for when they finally went down good, I’d just sign the thing and put it up on the dash for the tow truck operator. That’s still pretty dammed awesome when comparing to the $800 per month car payment we have now! lol

My boss at my 2nd job out of college had one of those. Maybe a couple of model years earlier, that he had gotten off-lease coming from someone who buys a new car every 2-3 years. Change the oil religiously every 3000 miles and keep up the brakes and that’s about it. They’ll go forever.
