Why is someone on Social Security Disability leasing a Focus? I make $134k/yr, have a mortgage free home and drive a 2001 Corolla. I suppose if I was in a position where frugality was pointless, I’d piss government money away, too.
While I was paying cash for a few things at the store today, the cashier next to mine was having trouble getting a WIC check to go through for a young gal that had a huge ring in her nose, aand about 6 other facial piercings with jeweled adornment..

One thing I’ll remember about the Obama years is feeling stupid for working and paying my bills.
These people just don[’t get it. When other peoples money run out and the thieves politicians work it over; the gigs up. By then she will be a slave for real.
Well, on the positive side, it’s a win/win proposition for Obama and the democrats.
She becomes a loyal democrat voter, for life.
And, she’ll be spending the money, which is what the democrats say will stimulate the economy.
Those are the wins for the democrats.
Now, on the opposite side, the democrats will never mention that, she’s taking from the productive people who continue laboring for their lifestyles.
Also, the democrats will never mention that, productivity, as far as the lady is concerned, and as far as all of the other freeloaders is concerned, has been taken out of the economic equation, which means that, there will be less production and a smaller economy, and eventually, less in taxes being collected, which means that, in the long run, that lady and the other freeloaders will have to take “pay” cuts, and eventually, they’ll end up on the street begging and loving our of cardboard boxes, with, NO CARS, and very little food, if any.
“Once the socialists have 51% of the population in that same scenario we are finished........ *and we are real, real close*. The question is: when do we cross that threshold if we haven’t already?”
Those who aren’t in that scenario but approve of it push support for socialism way over 51%.
my story is similar, once at my allergist getting "retested," a lady told me she was on full-time disability from her job at the Post Office............she was allergic to......glue!
Other than that allergy, she was a healthy 39 year old that you and I are paying to stay at home, in the mall, going to the park, to the casino, and wherever else she spends her time!
The email is BS. If she is getting that much in SSDI she was making much more than $330.00 per week. Perhaps she had a high paying job at one time but the email does not indicate that.

if you’ve read Starving the Monkeys, she is one that needs to be taken to the back end of the store, out the back where the cliff is.
$3500 a month. That’s $42,000 a year. Which ain’t bad, right? But .... how much would you have to earn *pre-tax* to take home $42K? Depending on a bunch of factors it could depend on a lot of things but it might be as much as $70K. And not mentioned here is the cost and value of health insurance. Basically that’s part of this woman’s “package”. The real value of this deal is maybe north of $80K.
My gut tells me the lady was "inflating" her income in order to qualify for the lease.

Two points:
For many individuals validly disabled there is nothing about their outward appearance that would tell you that. A disability condition doesn’t necessarily have to entail loss of limbs or such. In fact, sometimes the people who look disabled really aren’t. A person might have one good day in 30 and chooses to go out that day; people say “Oh look, that person gets about just fine”.
Most people on federal SNAP just had benefits reduced by about 40%. Family of four can be down to about $250/month with a few thousand dollars of income.
