Once again, it’s highly unlikely that this is going to make a big dent in the Hispanic vote for Mitt Romney. It’s about the benefits and identity politics, and Hispanics don’t identify with the Republican party.

You may well be correct. However, the election will probably be close and even a small dent may enough to put Governor Romney over the top. Every little bit counts. And, as the results of the Univision investigation are regurgitated, probably with reluctance, by the "principled media," there may be an impact on non-Hispanic voters.
