I agree with you, obviously Romney will have to frame it better than I would..but its just so sad hearing these people calling into Hannity’s show begging for Communism, its unbelievable that in 2012 people still will become slaves to the Govt just to get some scrapes thrown at them..I dont think they give a damn about anything as long as they can sit their asses at home and wait for a check to come from the Govt..as long as they dont have to pay for it they could care less. These people need to go to Venezuela and see what Communism gets them there..nothing but tyranny. Romney has to explain the differences between living in Freedom and living under Communism(Yeah who knew that in 2012 we would actually have to EXPLAIN to people why Communism is a bad thing) if people want Communism, what more can be said..it would be the day that America cried
You make an excellent and chilling point. Discussing this in terms of communism and its evils is simply beyond the intellect and the experience of these people. Countless millions of people have been living on the gov’t dole for 2,3 or 4 generations. They can’t even envision a life without that check. They have no notion of a better life nor a desire to make one for themselves. Why should they? All incentive has been removed.
They have not experienced the tyranny of communism and other totalitarian forms, so it is impossible to ask them to consider that what they are asking for is a recipe for a complete collapse of the system they depend upon.
Speaking about communism to this group is also a waste of time. They barely know what it is or what it means and they certainly have never been educated about its evil results in every single case. The expression “those who don’t learn the lessons of history...etc.” simply does not apply; they have no lessons of history to learn from.
In this light, Romney’s 47 percenter comment is very well taken, indeed.
