To Those Of You Conservatives Who Plan On Sitting Out This Election
Vanity | September 26, 2012 | Diamond6

Posted on 09/27/2012 10:28:51 AM PDT by diamond6

A conversation between my husband and a FReeper who wants to sit out the election because he doesn't like Romney:

"See, I believe that we are already past the tipping point.”

You really are naive. Nothing worse can happen, huh?

How about those hefty taxes that are planned for the “rich” (really small businesses) in January? Think that might possibly cause our economy to get even worse by increasing the jobless?

How about the $1 trillion dollar debt (conservatively estimated) for the next fiscal year’s budget and every year’s budget thereafter?

How about the disregard and attacking of the rights of all religious institutions, who will be forced to pay for something they believe is morally wrong? Do you think quite possibly Catholic hospitals and facilities might possibly go out of business?

How about the actual implementation of Obama Care, which will devalue our way of life, drive doctors out of the business, bankrupt insurance companies, and cause skyrocketing premiums?

How about the complete collapse of our economy, which will likely result in unprecented skyrocketing inflation rates and quite possibly a depression that we have never ever seen the likes of?

What about the complete disregard of any and all pro-life protections - babies, the elderly (euthanasia - they won’t be needed anymore?

How about the removal of any moral values for our country at all?

How about World War III in the Middle East, the annihiliation of Israel, and a nuclear holocaust there as well, with the fear of dirty bombs in this country?

How about the removal of all our rights - free speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms through Obama executive order fiats?

How about the replacement of our conservative judges with ultra liberal anti-Constitutionalists?

How about a Communistic-style of government that will lead us to the point of no return?

Your no vote is a vote for Communism. Congratulations on your “principled” approach. And you’re doing that to teach the party “a lesson”? There won’t be a 2016 election to turn to, after Obama gets done.

You and others like you have no genuine concern or accountability for our country at all.

If foundational principles no longer guide our choices as a people to whom we select to be our leaders - and we are left to expedience and necessity out of fear, we have already surrendered liberty itself. For some of us, that includes our right to the free exercise of faith.

I have not, nor will I make any insults to like conservatives on this forum. We should live up to our own standards of decency, and not become like DU. I have made cogent arguments as a reason to vote for Romney, and not Obama, but apparently people like you won't be convinced. Regardless.

good to see a bit of civilized discussion today...its pretty simple really, i wont hold my nose again, as i dont believe its a productive exercise, and more importantly, by voting *for* RR, i believe that it is an endorsement of too many wrong principles...

we understand that many/most will hold onto a belief that they can/will make a difference by voting *for* RR...if thats what you gotta do, knock yerself out, but most/many simply wont allow us the same choice, which is sad, because we have been attacked on nearly every thread so far for voting on Principle instead of political expediency that has been an exercise in futility for the past 20 yrs...

How appropriate - you believe “you reap what you sow” and YOUR the one supporting a socialist candidate.

I wasn’t the one who came up with the analogy.

Wow, trying to win an argument by postulating straw man arguments. That is not going to work here ‘cause you will get called on them every time. Why wont you try to convince me that Romney is not a socialist? Not a single person who holds your position that I simply must abandon my principles and vote for Romney has ONCE EVER SAID that Romney was not a socialist or has even made the attempt to refute that claim. I find that very telling.

The fact of the matter is .. there are conservative alternatives to vote for and the GOP party hacks hate that idea. I am going to use my vote to support those candidates and parties.

A conservative that votes for Romney has an awful lot in common with the black voter who votes for the democrat racist candidate. They are solidly on the plantation and they know their place and the GOP can count on them to vote for the GOP candidate regardless of what they have done, or what they have said. You go ahead and stay on the plantation - me, not so much.

As for the death of American, it comes from ABANDONING the principles of freedom.... and voting for socialist candidates.

This is such an unbelievably ridiculous statement, it is not even worth responding to.

Which one you talking about? Neither one of these guys was in the Infantry or Marine Corps? So what’s this “skin in the game bit”?

The problem definitely begins with the GOP-e. There were plenty of Conservatives who were perfectly acceptable ~ but they let this guy with no real Republican credentials into the race.

One of the things that has to be done is purge the Republican party of non-Republican elements, starting with the GOP-e.

I look forward to you defining what a socialist is, then explaining why you think Romney is one.

Go ahead, step up to the plate and try to prove your accusation.

You and your friends in the GOP-e should have been thinking about how important this election is before they disinvited 40% of the party from participation.

Jus' the way it is. No hard feelings but your boy is, at most, a one term President, and that's only if he gets his act together. Impeachment is an option with this outsider.

From dictionary.com:

Socialism:
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

So lets start with Romney care. In this case, the production and capital (healthcare) are to be taken from the individual and business owners (via the mandate) and redistributed to the community (population) by the State.

Hence, the very first criticism of the Mittbots, that they are into a cult of personality and really don't understand what's going on.

Else they'd be trying to get along with Conservatives rather than condemning them for criticizing their current leider.

Their reaction is very much like that of the Far Leftwingtards ~ and they really don't seem to be interested in winning the election. They campaign better against Conservatives than against commies and nazi clones.

I'm afraid real Conservatives don't think that way ~ we reject the very idea that implied hypocrisy is any reason to stand down from the battle.

That's a Leftwingtard idea anyway.

To start with Conservatives cannot be held accountable for Democrats, but the GOP-e can be. You lie down with demoRATS you stay there ~ you try rat, there's no comin' back!

If you thought Conservatives were going to go along with the campaign, you made a really big mistake ~ and you were warned. The guilt is all yours if Obamugabe sticks around another year until he can be impeached, convicted, and tossed on history's garbage heap

AMEN and AMEN! Because this needs to be stated again and again to the insulting masses who worship Romney as a savior and castigate, ridicule and demean anyone who refuses the plantation vote.

Romney's record as Governor speaks to not only his Socialism, but those things anathema to biblical Christian principles.

Priebus let 13 people run who had questionable Republican credentials. Some of them were actually members of different parties!

There were only three lifelong Conservative Republicans in the race.

No it doesn’t. It comes from helping America-hating, America-destroying Communists stay in office to finish their total destruction of America.

Hint: His company was called Bain Capital.

They featured start ups in business, and their success rate was high......they made money in the market place (not through cronyism or state mandate).

Hint: He doesn't want a national health care system, wants to repeal the one we have called Bambicare.

Okay, what are you going to do with those now?

Ya got anything else? I doubt it.......but I'll check back.
