Well said - having lived thru all that and having many regrets (It was my ex-husband who was the bra burner, not me), you nailed it. Women have traded their children’s well being for stuff. I reject the notion that both parents have to work. They choose to because of the STUFF. All solutions are pretty simple. Doesn’t mean many will listen.
Bravo! Sadly, the inflation which followed when the two-paycheck tipping point was reached has made it tough for many households to get by without two wage-earners. The money was worth decidedly less after the Carter years.
