I always wonder about the historic leftists the current crop of pointy-headed materialist intellectuals name things after. Were they as materialistic and naturalistic as their heirs? Was Mother Jones herself really an intellectual who spouted materialist gibberish as she opposed religion in the name of the "common man?"

I once read a leftist claim that the elite always pushes mysticism while the "common man" is a materialist. This of course is pure hooey, and even the left knows it, which is why they celebrate rather than attack the religions of "indigenous pipples."

If Mother Jones believed in G-d, then atheists have no right to name a magazine after her. If she did not, then she was merely another elitist.
