So what color are Hispanics?
On my mother’s side (Spain), we are all white with blue eyes.
On my dad’s side (Anglo), we are all white with blue eyes.
I repeat. What color are Hispanics?
And oh yes, we were all born blond.

Well you are obviously a white hispanic. We just created a new category for your type. Don’t go shooting any black youngsters, now!

The term “Hispanic” is usually reserved for Latin Americans, especially Spanish speaking Latinos. People from Spain are usually called “Spanish”.

The woman's argument is based on the officer's ability to visually discern her ethnicity. She, if not you, has made the connection between the way she looks and the officer's assumption that she is Hispanic. Could she make this argument if she were white with blue eyes? I suppose so, but she would have to cite some other visual clue to make it a reasonable argument. So it is reasonable to assume, given the locale and the woman's own argument that she can be identified visually as Hispanic that she not white with blue eyes but likely brown with dark eyes. At some time even La Raza people self refered as brown people. I guess things look different under the mango tree.

I'm sorry, Gatún. Juan Carlos de Borbón, Penelope Cruz and your relatives, are not federally qualified as Hispanics.
You see, if they were Puerto Rican, blonde and blue-eyed, black, or anything in between, they would be "Hispanic." All Puerto Ricans are "Hispanics." It's the law. A Chilean, or god forbid an Argentine, well that's a horse of a different color. When it comes to "Hispanics" if you be too white, you ain't all right.
I am sorry this is so confusing. But the bureaucrapic rule of thumb here is that in order to be an Hispanic, one really ought to be the same skin tone as a brown paper bag, or darker. It's a melanin thing.
The best kind of federally protected minority would be a transgendered Negro with Venezuelan, Cuban, or Nicaraguan antecedents.
Our government has not cottoned on to the fact that Latin America (and modern Spain)are multi-racial
