To each their own, but I find it funny that people with this type of reply think nothing of watching Football all Sunday or going to see Lord of The Rings or other sci fi at the movies/read the books.

While that may be true of some players, it certainly isn't true of the majority.
I overheard a soldier telling another soldier about how, when he was deployed to Afghanistan, he and his wife would get together and play WoW. Their interactions that way were a lot more meaningful to him than if they just talked on the phone for a few minutes--because they were actually doing something together, even though they were thousands of miles apart.
