I can use this to cook or to purify water by boiling it.

A rib eye at 700 deg for just a few minutes would be brilliant.

Did you do a countdown before igniting it?

I have lots of standing dead mesquite trees in our pasture. I prefer to dig pit, make coals, cook in cast iron pots. Dutch Oven Biscuits are the BEST!!!

I hope to get the grill and fuel tray this weekend. I had planned to bake biscuits in a dutch oven for my first project. I’m planning to do quite a bit of cooking with it. I’m thinking of making the grill adjustable for height so I can regulate the temperature. I’ve got a lot of learning and experimenting to do.
Any suggestions on controlling the temperature from any one will be appreciated.

I practiced with various empty cans and a knife, to make a version of rocket stove.
I kept it up until I could make one out of just about any two cans.
The net is full of various types and style plans to work from.

Damn! I forgot to countdown, but I swear I heard a slight roar like an afterburner. With my hearing loss it could have been my imagination.

I would assume you need a way to control the oxygen getting to the flame....maybe a vent hole or two in the pipe? Maybe a door on the combustion chamber that has vents you can open and close to control the fuel air mix?

One-time ping for no-to-illegals.
Thanks, rw4site. I love to learn about projects like that. Bookmarked!

I have been playing with these for over a year now. See “everything nice stove”. The dimensions seem scalable. I use stove pipe for stoves 8 to 10 inch diameter and two feet high! That one makes a real noise. Shoots a flame two feet high.
