Am I alone; seeing the hand of GOD in everything? There has/have to be others.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
back to YOU again...just what do you think to accomplish
here except to keep people from talking about anything but
YOU on this thread.
And yes, that’s about it. If you have a point to make then
go start your own thread about it. YOU have absolutely
derailed this thread.
Soon; I will learn to move around this site.
Hoagy62,
I remember the quake that took out many in Cal a few years ago ... I ‘member the concrete highways different levels of cars, people crushed for ...how many miles?
Homes buildings ...
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
Ultimately everyone makes a choice to believe or not believe in Jesus Christ before they die. Those who choose not to believe will bend their knee to Him at the Judgment, but it will be too late.
It is never too late. But that doesn’t mean we don’t still have a long ways to fall before we, as a Nation, again recognize that this is a country raised up by Him. (See my tagline. Our choice this election reminds me of God giving Israel their first king. “You want a King - okay then...”)
I don’t go to a church; I have it all the time in my life. I am no religion expert.
I wish you could have the experience of the Spirit of God move through you and into situations of your life so you would know God is real. I wish you had it move through your relationships, work, mind and emotions to soothe you and move/direct you. I wish you could have it move through your body to heal you like has happened to me throughout my life.
He’s real, just like I know you are real even though I can’t see and touch you. I got a glimpse of your thoughts on a forum and I get a glimpse of His thoughts as well when I turn to Him and am attentive.
What is it that you do not see happening today as it pertains to Western culture, as stated in the passage that opened this thread? Did you read and understand the passage before you dismissed it? What about did you deem false?
Welcome to FR!
Things can get a little crazy. I’ve had a few sitimuations. I try to take everything with a grain of salt. It ain’t always ozzie and harriet.
There’s some good instructiones somewhere here on keepin’ it real.
I think a lot of people are stressed out a little. It’s been a tough decade for most everyone, IMHO. I think I’m down to two straws myself.
I always try to compose offline, take a big break if I need to “rethink” my answer, and it winds up getting my rough edges filed down a little smoother - I can only hope.
I try to avoid posters where it doesn’t go well. If things start soundin’ bad I just bail. Better to go silent than beserk, IMHO. Hope this helps.
I was taught about and made my connection to Jesus when I was young and we did not learn many hymns. As an adult, I did not ever really find a church as I moved a lot and often I seemed to only find churches that were like sitting through a DNC political/race/sex slogan rally.
I have to make up my own Jesus love songs and sing them in the shower...scare the heck out of household members within earshot. :)
I look to Thee in every need, and never look in vain;
I feel Thy strong and tender love, and all is well again.
The thought of Thee is mightier far than sin and pain and sorrow are.
Discouraged in the work of life, disheartened by its load,
Shamed by its failures or its fears, I sink beside the road.
But let me only think of Thee and then new heart springs up in me.
Thy calmness bends serene above, my restlessness to still;
Around me flows Thy quickening life, to nerve my faltering will.
Thy presence fills my solitude, Thy providence turns all to good.
Enfolded deep in Thy dear love, held in Thy law, I stand;
Thy hand in all things I behold, and all things in Thy hand.
Thou leadest me by unsought ways, and turn my mourning into praise.
- Samuel Longfellow
Thanks.
Thy hand in all things I behold, and all things in Thy hand.
The poem was on my profile page for a long time.
I just don't think God wants us to be wimps....
stand up and be heard, and fight the good fight...
don't lay down on your bible verses and quaint sayings....
our God is a robust God.....HE expects us to be robust too...
Thanks. I know how is is done! I do it daily to those who I encountered in real life. And not someone on the internet while others embrace such foolishness and weakness. I’m no fool and even Jesus turned away because ‘HE knew what was in them’.
GOD’S Word is readily available in America to all those seeking - perhaps when America doesn’t have that freedom any longer - they will wake up when teaching isn’t so readily available. Opportunities don’t stay forever. IMO, too many take too much for granted. And since ‘eternity’ should be a #1 priority, it shows the kind who make light of it. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Some are just hell bent to learn the hard way - trouble is - it will be too late.
God Bless you and your Dad.
This is one I've had trouble with, but only because I used my rational mind to solve a supernatural problem.
We're told that in this arena "seeing is believing" is backwards, that we must first believe and then we will see.
We are also told to ask God to reveal Himself or show Himself to us and if we are sincere, He will answer this prayer.
I followed this advice and then began to look for my answer, not with a preconceived notion of what the answer would look like, but merely with an open mind and enough trust/faith that I would know the answer when I saw it.
It is sorta like learning anything. The more I looked for my answer, the more I learned of others' experiences, the more I began to see and make the connections.
So, I am now at a point where the title of this thread spoke to me and my own experience.
I do see God's Hand in the events around me, great and small, whereas before I would have missed it. Because my inner tuner wasn't tuned to God's frequency, I didn't know how to use it, so I simply missed what was happening all around me.
Knowledge and experience, along with a researcher's mindset, turned on this previously hidden or taken for granted talent to tune in.
I believe this is true for all of us humans, for we all have this ability. It is just not used and waits for us to learn how to use what has always been there, just like with any other ability.
Assuming such a being exists, yes.
I think have your answer... Ask for Him to show yourself to Him. Pray...I always used that addage... Knock and it shall be opened unto you... Seek and ye shall find Ask and it shall be opened unto you. If you are sincere... He will show himselfe to you. Just be sure you are serious... GOD is not mocked!
I did so a few decades ago, before I was an agnostic. I asked Christ to forgive my sins. Rest assured, I was completely sincere.
I felt nothing. Nothing was shown to me.
Oh, well.
I'm somehow preventing people on this thread from talking about anything but me? How, exactly, am I doing that? And please, be specific.
And yes, thats about it. If you have a point to make then go start your own thread about it. YOU have absolutely derailed this thread.
My first post in this thread was a response to the OP. Since then, every post I've written without exception has been a response to someone posting to me directly. I've derailed nothing.
I’d just like a sign for all to see, hopefully from the Christian God. That would go a long way to settle practically all the issues in the world.
