I’m surprised they used Wagner for background music, (Siegfried’s Funeral March from “Götterdämmerung), when he held such anti-Semitic views, and was Hitler’s favorite composer.
Many years ago Zubin Mehta took the NY Phil to Israel, and when the Prelude and “Liebestod” from “Tristan und Isolde” was played a riot broke out at the concert hall.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that someone else noticed this. I’m not sure if they are trying to call Obama antisemitic, or if this is a pun on “the Death of the Gods” ie Obama.
