The solution is to expel the dishonest minority (the GOP-e) from the party and move on. You people are less than 15% of our voting base, and I am sure that when your faithless leaders are shed, you will see the patriotic wisdom in that movement and step quickly into line lest you, too, be outed!
May I disagree? I think the hand-lickers lick instinctually, as they did in Patrick Henry's day, and will follow our American Alcmaeonidae into exile, licking furiously "on principle" despite the reduced rewards, once the GOP-e no longer have a continent to loot.

In point of historical minutiae I believe there is one direct ancestor who joined the Union army during the civil war, and more recent collaterals.
