Recently I asked you how we can tell the difference between honest Freepers and covert Obama activists. You answer was essentially that this age of deception rules the day.
But here’s a more specific question you don’t have to avoid: What do you think the breakdown is, more or less, of the two groups? Of the hardcore anti-Romney crowd, what percent do you think are sincere conservative posters vs what percent are leftists pretenders who know they can’t advance marxism on its own nonexistent merits?
There’s no way to tell except by long-term observation of posting style. And given this is the internet - anonymous handles makes it easy to deceive.
As far as breakdowns of the two groups - on this board? I have no idea. You got disgruntled Libertarian Ron Paul worshippers tossed into this mix as well, some of whom will vote for Obama before Romney anyway (they did in 2008).
I do know that JimRob made it pretty clear that Conservatism and Christian faith is the intent and purpose of this board, and that supporting Romney is NOT one of the things he, or this board was going to support. I imagine there are a lot of us at FR who are not GOP plantation slaves who are sincere Conservatives, but I’ll guess that the vocal party hacks outnumber us in vitriol and insistence.
That Obama and Romney have operatives prowling on social media and forum boards is not news. In fact, it is the new Precinct Captain Operation playbook. Lots of wolves in sheep’s clothing these days. On Talk Radio they usually begin by saying “I’ve been a Conservative for 20 some odd years and I’m supporting the President” or some such crap.
I’m not one of those. I have a long history on Conservative/prep boards and well as my own blog. I’m if anything, I’m consistent on standing for what I believe in and I do not waver. Plus I frankly do not care what others think, either of me or what I post. I speak what I believe plainly and without apology.
That said, I can only speak for myself and those I know who share my values and sentiments; namely devout Conservative Christians who put their faith and God before anything else’. How many of us that makes here at FR - I do not know.
But if I had to guess, - I think many are more afraid of Obama than they are of God, which would explain the zeitgeist mantra that if we do not vote for Romney - we’re traitors and should be hanged or shot, by the accords of some posting here.
You’re confusing anti-Romney with anti-liberalism.
In this case whoever they are the same.
One has to wonder why some calling themselves conservative would be a Romney supporter.
