Profit is the only reason for a business to exist!!!!
When the 1986 “tax simplification act” took effect and consequently brought the illegal aliens into commercial construction I could no longer operate legally and make a profit and fired all the employees and closed a 57 year old business!!!
After the Civil War ended, newly freed former slaves traveled north looking for employment. They traded on the one advantage they had - their pay. They were willing to supply manual labor at significant discount to the prevailing wages. So the local democrats started instituting labor unions that would exclude blacks from membership while increasing the minimum lawful wage.
Low priced labor is always a problem when it inundates settled communities.
