They’re all wrong, it’s not an icebox, Alaska, it’s a modern refrigerator!

I can say this, I have seen many a person move here and then part way through winter sell off all they brought with them so they can get someplace warmer.
To me thats a strategic asset, for a defensive posture having literally dug in for many years, having adapted and acclimated to the extreme cold, having pre-placed supply positions ahead of time plus a familiarity with the bush it makes Alaska the perfect place to defend.

Arguably the major city like Anchorage will suffer from a complete shutdown of flown in food stuffs and supplies, those that live in the rural areas will marginally be affected.

Not even a mass invasion of foreign troops could remove dug in natives that would be silent stalking ghosts in the bush.

maybe in the lower 48 you can harness pit bulls to pull a wagon, in Alaska we breed dogs that can out pull and out run any horse and at sub zero temps. Living off the land is in some ways much easier in Alaska, especially away from any game ruled areas.

Sure its tough, but tough survive. The best things in life are dangerous.
