As opposed to like Biden was alluding to back in the day when branding and chains actually meant something... oh, wait, no, THAT’S RACIST! Can’t have “branding” and “Obama” in the same sentence.

Sounds like a description of Harry Potter.

A much liked character, but, not real, and one of fantasy, just like Obama.

Clint cut through their marketing, brought Obama down to a man not doing his job.

Clint picked up the can of Obama, took a taste, spat it out and said this sucks. That is how you destroy a brand.

And then, one has to ask a bigger question...

What kind of person is it that would sell us a brand, which is alluring, yet damaging, and would threaten the well-being of the whole country?

Desirée Rogers’ Brand Obama (April 2009 wsj)

....‘We have the best brand on Earth: the Obama brand,’ Rogers says. ‘Our possibilities are endless’

...Rogers is considered by many to be the key to Brand Obama. She stands at the center of the careful marketing of the first family and an administration-wide effort to make the White House appear a hip and accessible abode.

I was thinking the same thing, what a great writer - he is describing a difficult idea and transforming it into its bare essentials.

The Sultan is becoming one of my favorite writers right behind Steyn.

Fascinating article. Thanks.

Like all brands, the Obama brand has a “crown jewel,” she explains, and that crown jewel is the White House. Think of it like Unilever’s Dove, a consumer brand Rogers says she admires.

Ya, well, the plastic wrap is off the box and the packaging isn't as sleek and pretty as it once was

Time has a way of catching up to you just like the truth.

I remember the UTUBE movie that came out during the beginning of the democrat primary process. It was a takeoff on George Orwell’s 1984. At the end of the short video it shows some one throwing a hammer through a screen image of a person resembling Hillary. Then the famous O symbol comes up on the screen. I thought it was the most powerful political ad I have ever seen. It was a great introduction to the O brand.
