Ever Eat Crow? I am now. I went to the Sarah Steelman Site. She is Pro Life Anti-all the bad stuff Take a look! If she has to go thire party, I think she should. You see, there was a Governor who mabe two parties so he could win in Connecticut in 1992. He was the guy who said "adding an income tax to our state at this time is like pouring gasoline on the fires of inflation." He then shut down the state parks for the rest of the year including JULY 4th.
Sarah Steelman, Your Next U.S. Senator Sarah Steelman is a lifelong Missourian. She lives in Rolla, Missouri with her husband David and their youngest son, Michael who is a sophomore in high school. Their oldest son Sam is a recent graduate from Drury University (Springfield,) and is currently living and working in Springfield, Mo. Joe is 22 and finishing his last year at the University of Chicago. Her husbands daughter, Amanda, lives in Springfield with her husband Taylor Moore and their little girl, Lily.
Sarah attended University of Missouri Columbia and graduated with a Masters in Economics and a BA in History. She grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri and graduated from Jefferson City High School.
She served as State Treasurer of Missouri from 2004 until 2008. As Missouri Treasurer Steelman was responsible for the management of more than $19 billion in Missouris annual revenue and managed the investment of over $3 billion in long- and short-term investments in the states portfolio. She started the first terror-free investment fund in the nation, which ensured that no taxpayer dollars were invested in terrorist sponsoring countries. Many other states have followed her lead in enacting similar policies.
As treasurer, Steelman served as chairman of the states Higher Education Savings Board, which administers the Missouri Saving for Tuition, or MOST program and as Chairman of the Missouri Housing Development Commission. She also served as a member of the Missouri State Employee Retirement System and the Board of Fund Commissioners that oversees issuance of debt instruments by the state. Steelman elected not to run again for State Treasurer and made an unsuccessful bid for Governor in 2008.
In 1998 and 2002, Steelman was elected to serve as the Senator for the 16th State Senatorial District. As a member of the State Senate, Steelman served as chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce and the Environment. She served as a member of the Senate Committee on Aging, Families, Mental and Public Health; a member of the Senate Committee on Education; and a member of the Senate Committee on Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight.
She also served on the Missouri Consolidated Health Plan Board of Trustees; the Joint Task Force on Terrorism, Bio-Terrorism and Homeland Security; and the Joint Committee on Rules.
Previously, Steelman served as deputy director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Division of Geology and Land Survey. She also worked as an economist for the Department of Revenue and as an adjunct professor in economics at Lincoln University. She served as an investment broker and as the director of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Rolla, a not-for-profit organization that matches children in need of attention with volunteer mentors.
For the last two years Sarah has been active in grassroots politics. She is a board member on the Missouri Club for Growth. She is a contributor to FUJAH magazine. She also served as a consultant for Empowerment Financial Group and taught a political science class in leadership and public policy change at Missouri State University in their Executive in Residence program.
As i understand it, she cant run under Missouri law after losing the primary.
Then you lock those interesting choices in place with a "No sore losers" law which prohibits other candidates who didn't make it through the primary from running in the general election.
Eventually you end up with nothing but droolers and idiots running and winning office ~ take a look at what's happened in Washington State ~ they now have the two all time stupidest US senators!
Missouri is at the tipping point ~ this McCaskill's family history and that of her Carnahan counterpart read like the Kallikak family, and all I can say is three generations of idiocy is three too many !
None of those people have ever had a real job, and I'm just guessing that's because they are otherwise unemployable.
Can someone find out if that's true?
Not based on what I read. Not unless the winning primary candidate withdraws from the race, then it’s open.
How about as an independant?
Sarah P should be up on that.
No, not unless he withdraws. There are lots of posts on this.
