The media have been misrepresenting Aiken's comments.

47% of Missouri voters now have a "very unfavorable impression" of Akin.

Voters knew that he was pro-life when they elected him. They did not know that he was an idiot. Now they know. He can apologize until he is blue in the face, it won't help. They won't vote for an idiot.

If a player repeatedly scores points for the opposing team, the coach takes him out of the game. If the player wants for his team to win, he swallows his pride, leaves quietly and gracefully, and cheers his replacement on to victory.

Another pro-life Republican without Akin's baggage might still be able to win. Akin should leave the race immediately and support his successor.

Winning the election is critically important. Assigning blame for Akin's problems is not important. Stickin' it to the GOPe is not important.

FOCUS ON WHAT IS IMPORTANT.

Please!
