Mitt Romney Plays the Birther Card

Politicians sometimes think they can get away with saying something profoundly offensive or just plain stupid by acting like it was a joke. It never works, just like it didn’t work today when Mr. Romney shamelessly played the birther card in what seems like an increasingly desperate campaign against President Obama.

Speaking in Commerce, Mich., about his Michigan roots, Mr. Romney said: “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Get it? Everyone knows he’s from Michigan, but nobody is really sure where the president is from.

It’s not like Mr. Romney has shunned the birther crowd. He took the stage earlier this year with Donald Trump, who ranted about Mr. Obama’s citizenship. Mr. Romney’s son, Matt, said during the primaries that his father might consider releasing his tax returns if Mr. Obama released his birth certificate and his grades.

In April 2011, Mr. Romney himself used the “well if he says so” dodge that many Republicans love. “I think the citizenship test has been passed,” Mr. Romney said. “I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office.”

Citizenship test? Barack Obama did not have to take a citizenship test. And why couldn’t Mr. Romney cut out the “I believe” preamble? The president was born in the United States.

But today’s crack was way over the line. His audience laughed and applauded, probably not because they thought Mr. Romney was doing hilarious stand-up comedy, but because they knew exactly what he was up to...

General Hospital, Mombasa, Kenya where Obama was born a few hours later at 7:21 pm on August 4, 1961(what a sad day for the USA!).
Four days later his mother flew to Hawaii and registered his birth in Honolulu as a certificate of live birth which omitted the place and hospital of birth."

Here's something to ponder.

I think it more likely that the trip from Kenya actually occurred in August 1961, shortly after BHO-II's birth at the Coast Province General Hospital in Mombasa.
Ann and her newborn son flew from Nairobi to London, via BOAC Flight BA162 and then took the non-stop BOAC flight from London to Vancouver, Canada.
She then traveled the 110 miles or so, across the border, to Seattle in time to start Fall Semester, night-school extension classes at the University of Washington.
The trip would be challenging for a new mother, but she was young, healthy, intelligent, and capable.
BOAC was very accomodating to mothers with young children back in the 1960s. No real problem!

The forgeries I'm aware of, are the three Birth Cretificate Barack Hussein Obama II has forged.
I don't trust evidence put forth by Obama supporters.
The disappearance of too much evidence on Obama is strong enough for me to know that he was born in Kenya.

A question for the NY Slimes...a few years ago the dust jacket of one of Osama Obama’s book claimed,in big bold letters,that he was born in Kenya.More recently he’s claimed to have been born in Hawaii.Was he lying *then*,or is he lying *now*.And assuming your answer is “then” can you tell me on what *other* occasions might he have falsely claimed to have been born in Kenya? I was born many years before Osama...in Massachusetts,which is an "open records" state.That means that *anyone* can go to the Massachusetts Vital Records Archive in Boston and,if they had my full name,DOB and city of birth,would be able to see and touch,in a bound book,my *original* BC,which contains,among other things,the doctor's actual signature (the very piece of paper he actually signed) and,for a fee,can get a certified copy of that BC with the official state seal on it.

Yet Osama,born long after me (when such records were even *more* diligently generated and preserved),cannot seem to do the same.

Romney said he’s never been asked to show his birth certificate, from the left they said Romney is a “birther”, not believing obama has a birth certificate.

So far, obama hasn’t shown one...one that’s real, anyway.
