Close but not quite. The linked thread has a timeline of what happened. The Mass Supremes told the legislature to “do something”, without having the power to do so. No law was or has been changed in MA wrt marriage except for the old requirement for a clean STD check from a doctor, no longer needed.
Romney, or someone working for him, told the town and city clerks to start issuing gay marriage licenses or lose their jobs, using forms that someone in Romney’s administration had already designed and printed up.
All irrelevant now, we have a choice- evil, or lesser evil, just like always.
I look at it as living to fight another day. Romney/Ryan if we elect a conservative majority in both house and senate can bring some fiscal sanity to the federal government. Maybe they can turn this ship around and maybe in a couple of terms we can get Ryan as a President.
If Obama get another term, the fiscal and moral damage will just be that much worse.
