Good for Gabby. How long til the left and the media try to Chick-Fil-A her?
God deserves credit in all things...win or lose. We just seem to like to thank Him for when we win.
Where’s the link to the rest of the story?
How about we let this young gal enjoy the rewards of her hard work, and pay off the IRS. After all I have read she is only 16.
I love watching Gabby - poetry in motion.
What a role model for individual perseverance and success. Hear that, Obummer?
Jesus had some not irrelevant comments:
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Not saying these people who pray in public are hypocrites. Do find it odd that I’ve seldom seen Christ’s input on the subject discussed when the subject comes up.
Why do they say the value of a gold medal is $25,000.? Does it have that much gold in it...that would be about a pound?
Medal winners also receive cash.
Time is running out to stop a massive persecution of Christians that has already begun.
Thank you, Gabby.
Sheesh.
She wasn’t praying.
She was merely crediting the Power that rules her life and Who has helped her achieve her goals.
If you want to quote scripture, you would be better off comparing her remarks to those of Peter and John who, when told to shut up about the power behind them, said “we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:20
I had similar thoughts while watching the US Track and Field trials where almost every athlete was either crossing themselves, pointing up at the heavens or praising God after every race.
What happened to all the anti-christian bigots on ESPN and all over the media that couldn’t get to a microphone fast enough to spew their hatred of Tebow?
Did they all suddenly come down with laryngitis?
Or are they just afraid to spew hatred at black christian athletes (like Gabby and the vast majority of the track and field athletes) the same way that they spew hatred at white christians like Tebow?
Good for Gabby! Beautiful both inside and out. Her public expression of faith can’t be sitting well with the hateful media. It was easy to criticize Tebow; how long will it take them to start crapping on her?
I have no clue the 'floating' value of gold, or how much literal 'gold' is contained within a medal... However, small compensation for the years/hours these kids have put forth to become champions... My prayer is they recognize the 'gods' of this age consider them subjected to pay them homage for any awards/rewards EARNED for their hard work.
They say time is money, the literal time this little gal put into earning gold is never going to be reimbursed. She may well earn a compensation for future work but that medal is a small symbolic measure of compensation.
"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's..."
A gold record? I thought she got a gold medal. Did she sing too?
Do they even make gold records anymore?
I thought the medal itself is just spray painted, the value being in what it represents, the fame and resulting endorsements, as well as the cash prize.
Tebow, also discussed in the article, was.
Jesus also prayed publically, and His Father answered Him publically. His disciples prayed publically as well. The verse should not be seen as a prohibition against public prayer. To do so sets the scripture against itself (and against the church).
