I’ve heard of this happening before—maybe a couple of years ago.

Found a story from 2007. Not sure if this is the one I’m remembering. Arizona of all places!

Poor animals. Not a good way for any living creature to go.

There were two died together the same way no more than a few weeks ago. The story was posted here. JoeSixPack might know of the link.
