At least Romney seems to be making the right enemies.
Muslims are born and raised to be perpetually offended, and journalists are carefully trained to detect even invisible causes for offense even in the most liberal of republicans, but Romney made it particularly easy for both groups. Romney’s worst flaw in his statement was its exact truth - followed by the offense of saying something nice about the Jews that liberals so thoroughly despise.
