Actually, so far it is circumstantial evidence. But it looks extremely likely.
I haven’t passed this on to my liberal friends, because it hasn’t been absolutely proven. But I’d say the odds in favor look like about 95%.

If a off duty police officer had a concealed weapon and shot him that would be still stupid? If people are trained to use a firearm. (granted not as trained as officers) Still the same lead slamming through the brain stem stops the behavior. What does it matter how the bullet reaches the brainstem.?
When he shot up the Aurora movie house, he was dressed as a black bloc member dresses. The new batman movie had an OWS type guy as the villian and was dressed in black. The probably mentally unstable Holmes may have been really pissed off at the movie and wanted revenge: explanation here.
This is certainly circumstantial, but it is more plausible than Brian Ross's view that a James Holmes of the Tea Party -- who was not the James Holmes who was the shooter -- performed the mass murder.
But Mr. McCown—the fact remains that OWS is not restrained by any moral code. So whether or not Holmes is in fact associated with OWS is irrelevant to the fact that his actions flow logically from the philosophy of OWS.
And I realize that most OWS sympathizers would not like this to be the case, but their desire doesn’t change that it is factually true.

So why did Holmes’ grades go down last spring, causing him to drop out of graduate school? What was he doing?
There are a few on the right that seem to seek to make us as bad as the left when it comes to conspiracy theories and rampant speculation.
Most conservatives wait for evidence before they make accusations, are are quite open to reason.
But there’s always a vocal minority who think making claims without evidence is a winning strategy.
I think that the picture of the guy holding the OWS banner at the protest in the snow definitely looks like James E. Holmes, unless it’s a photo shopped picture, the rest are inconclusive.
Holmes spent an awful lot of money on firearms, protective equipment, & rigging his apartment. Grad students aren’t known for being flush with cash.
Some of the people in the “occupy” movement traveled from one protest to another (NY to Oregon/ Washington/ Cali).
If he had the disposable income to spend on this attack, why would we assume that he didn’t have the money to spend traveling to an “occupy” event (or more than one)?
Do we think that this Black Bloc- or “occupy” would acknowledge him?
Where’s this guy been over the past year & where did the money come from?
