I wasn't laughing. I was so ticked I wanted to 'Do an Elvis to my TV'. I succeeded because I WORKED AT IT.
Yes I had some great teachers in HS, but that was their job - To Tech. And yes, I had some co-workers when I was a young whippersnapper who shared their knowledge, and one was a 'mentor'. But it was ME, Myself, and I who took that and ran with it.
But that aside, carrying Barry's moronic statement to its 'logical conclusion'(sarc) is also like saying Fender Guitar Co. owes its success to my friend Johnny turning me on to The Blues back in the summer 1963.
And by that same 'logic' of pResident O'DUmmie, I should be as great a guitar player as Eric Clapton is, or Stevie Ray Vaughan was, since we all play(ed) Fender Stratocasters. But 'somehow' that didn't work out. So I guess I was cheated, or didn't get 'a fair chance' and the Government 'failed me' at becoming a Star (or some nonsense like that).
