For a while after Romney locked up the nomination I posted this fact, over and over again, and I'll post it here again:
On April 10, when Rick Santorum effectively dropped out of the race, the vote totals looked like this:
Total Republican Primary Votes for Romney: about 5 million
Total Republican Primary Votes for Santorum + Gingrich: about 6 million
And yet many conservatives, many good conservatives, continue to blame the GOP, the RNC and the "establishment" for Romney.
All Romney did is run for president.
All we had to do was unite behind a single conservative.
Romney did what he had to do.
We failed.
So yeah, let's blame everybody else. Let's blame Bush. Let's blame Global Warming. Let's blame my momma (you can, since she was a life-time Roosevelt supporter, even into the 21st century, but sadly she's no longer with us).
