Name That Party: Sun-Sentinel Neglects Specifics of Illegal Teachers Union Contributions

It's time once again to play America's favorite political game...Name That Party!

This time the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel really had me stumped. It was their story about a former Broward (county) Teachers Union president who was arrested for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in union funds. What kept me scratching my head was that the Sun-Sentinel reporters wrote that some of the funds went to political campaigns but made no mention of the political party of the recipients. Here is the lead of the story that offered no real clues as to the political party:

I had to cheat to find the answer but I had to. The Sun-Sentinel offered no clues as to which campaigns and which party were the beneficiaries of the illegal union contributions.

If you stayed informed by reading reputable newspapers, you would know the answer--of course, the recipients are those evil Republicans! Where's my prize?

(I hate to explain jokes, but just as the page was loading, I realized that my wording was misleading. My joke is not that the Sun-Sentinel wasn’t a “reputable” newspaper; it’s that Reputable Mainstream Newspapers could make one think that Democrats could do no wrong. Carry on. And where’s my prize?)
