Now that you mention it, I went back and looked at that.
They didn’t follow the rules,,,”always treat a firearm as if it is loaded”,”never point your weapon at something you don’t want to destroy or kill”, etc....

Actually, the story is that the unit with the cannon sneaked up on the enemy encampment while they were enamored with the view. The photograph was taken just before the order to fire was given, and the enemy was destroyed.
Glad I could set the record straight.
