In fact, the very first Republican presidential nominee, John C. Fremont, lost the election to none other than James Buchanan, a Democrat. Good thing for us, they did not give up. Unlike you, they were willing to start with nothing and make an effort without guarantees for the betterment of the nation. It works ... when you give it shot.
