Do you really think there aren’t liberal policy gnomes in Congress, think tanks and universities already hard at work coming up with new and exciting ways to make mischief with the tool Roberts just handed them? If you don’t, you’ve missed the last 80 or so years of the Democratic (and sadly, all too often the Republican) party’s history.
What did Roberts get? Institutional respect for the Court from people who have no respect for the Courts unless they win? If you think liberals will say, “we’ll let it slide next time we lose a 5-4 decision and promise to never again push the boundaries of the Commerce Clause because Roberts gave us ObamaCare” you’ve missed the last 80 or 90 years of liberalism and the courts. Maybe I missed something but the New Deal and Warren courts* were happy to overturn decades and decades of law and never felt the need to “throw a bone” to conservatives (or people who thought the words of the Constitution had some set meanings).
In fact, Roberts has actually lost something very important (if this theory is right)…he’s shown that with enough bullying and threats against the legitimacy of his Court, he’ll give in.
The only people who ever insist a loss is actually a win are people who just lost. We need to accept the fact that there is no pony underneath all of this, there’s simply a giant pile of manure.

John Roberts and the 4 or 5 other liberals on the Supreme Court have made it impossible for me to celebrate the 4th of July this year. Arizona is NOT free to secure its own border. Americans are NOT free to live their own lives and make their own decisions. The only people who got freedom this week from the Supreme Court are dirtbags who want to lie about military medals they never earned. John Roberts went 0-for-3 in possibly the worst week the Supreme Court has had in decades. No fireworks for me this year.

I’m afraid the USA & the West in general are dying. It’s been going on since the 60s. Like Newt said: “Romney is a good manager....but he will only manage the decline”. It is what it is.

As for Roberts, why didn’t he just kick the damn thing back to the Congress saying that it was a tax and to re write it as such.

Roberts opinion says there is a legislative process to use to correct this.
Any other choice would have been trumpeted as 'legislating from the 'activist' court.' by the libtards and the Lamestream Media, and most likely would have guaranteed 4 more years of Oblunder.
What is HAS done is waken that fury in the voting public that has been missing since Reagan.
