Starting Tuesday Night Off Right
Posted by Ann Barnhardt - June 26, AD 2012 6:31 PM MST Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

When the Financial Guys Start Talking About God...
Posted by Ann Barnhardt - June 25, AD 2012 3:38 PM MST

And lo, the sixth seal was broken, and hardcore financial traders began making videos about God, and morality and personal integrity, and rent their sackcloth garments and did put dust and ash on their heads, mourning and weeping in the highways and hedges.
It's getting Biblical, y'all.
This audio-only interview with Warren Pollock (sorry, none of my patented Extreme Facial Expressions) dovetails beautifully with yesterday's post.
There is no bailout that can fix this. To the contrary, as we see in Europe and in the U.S. post-Lehman, not only do bailouts fix NOTHING, they make everything worse as the populace, devoid of integrity, sees that it can simply go back and rape the system again, except each cyclical iteration will be at least an order of magnitude larger than the last bailout cycle.
This is a problem of personal integrity. This is a problem that only God can fix, both on the macro level and on the micro level. But Warren's epiphany is that the fix MUST, MUST, MUST begin at the micro, individual level. A world devoid of integrity on the individual level will by definition . . . dis-integrate.
Rest at the post link above, and scroll down to June 25.

Barnhardt, former commodities broker who closed her business advised her clients that she "I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets because they are not," and shut down her business, always speaks the truth as she sees it boldy. She gutsy and unafraid and is always thought provoking as well as extremely religious.

Lord, deliver us from evil ...
.. Ping!
Ping.
Now who can argue with that?
Anne understands the problem with some businessmen who are intoxicated and reckless with money, resulting in thievery and corruption. Problem with many freepers is they do not seem to recognize this because it taints the philosophy of free markets and little regulations. William Black the former regulator who dealt with the S&L crisis of the 1980’s pointed out. Conservatives understand the pathology of the street thug/criminal and thus have a good grasp on how to effectively deal with them, but have a confused ability to profile white collar criminals because of their propensity to blindly trust free markets and corporations. I leave freepers with an old Asian adage that good emperors leave to their successors. “Merchant class it vital to the empire because as a group they produce vast wealth. However merchants are capable of cheating the people and corrupt officials. A good ruler must keep an eye on them at all times.” The problem of rich businessmen undermining society and good government is nothing new in human history.
Uhh. The chapters and verses were inserted during the Middle Ages for the convenience of users.
There is absolutely no reason to believe those who did so were inspired of God, and therefore there is no reason to believe any numerological calculations mean a darn thing.
