The only thing left to him, if things get bad enough, is to blame someone else, and say that his mother lied to him. Now, seeing that she was still alive when he wrote (when Ayres) wrote that book, he's going to have to call a dead woman a liar, because she was still there. Would he do that? Only if he has to.
