ansel12,
I've been reading over your posts. You seem lost in the idea that we preppers are convinced that the gov’t is coming to get us.

If you investigate what our gov’t is doing, you would see that there is cause for concern.

Say the gov’t is benign, then what's with all these preps that they are making?

I'm not going to do your research for you, the information is there for you if you're inclined to find it as the rest of us have.

I've gained a wealth of useful knowledge and tips about prepping on these threads, but there's always someone that wants to tell us that our preps are unnecessary and that we are foolish.

So tell me, why do preppers bother you so much?

We have legitimate concerns are taking actions to address those concerns. We don't’ argue with you because you're not prepping, so why can't you return the courtesy.

Thanks for attacking all of us who are military or veterans.

Your comment from post #119:

"And here is a photo of America from the calm and placid 1950s with the 101st Airborne helping herd Southerners with fixed bayonets"

You're welcome. I spent over 20 years in uniform. My comment stands.

That is an idiotic post.

How could you have gotten everything so wrong?

I have been a prepper for decades, since the 1960s, I was born into it, I am better prepped than most, from nitrogen stored foods, to canning, to armament to everything else, even sophisticated NBC gear and an extensive survivalist library, decades of layers of knowledge, goods, and experience, I have been buying books and subscribing to prepper magazines since the 1970s, you used to call us “survivalists”.

Look at post 29 again and you will also see that I am a patriot, and know something about America and history.

Protecting school children computes to those soldiers rounding up their parents and neighbors for death camps, because they are Christian?

That is goofy, left-wing thinking friend. You and I have a different view of the soldiers we served with.

So you answer my questions with an insult. Nice.

You don't sound like a prepper or survivalist.

I haven't seen where you've offered any advice, just argument.

Your post 29 indicates to me that you are too trusting of those currently in power.

What do you think is up with all the new surveillance of US citizens?

Would you care you tell us about your preps or just argue?

I could have sworn your post to me was insulting, it was surely idiotic.

Describing an early and lifelong member of the survivalist movement as you did was to miss it by a mile, and you are still missing it.

I already have, it is in my posting history, I tend to post on what interests me at the moment.

One thing that I was so pleased about when the term prepper replaced survivalist was that it made it more mainstream, more suburban mom friendly, and it helps me to carry the message to people that 30 and 40 and 50 years ago used to recoil at what seemed like and was portrayed as a paranoid, para-military oriented, scary male thing. You remember how people reacted to you 40 and 45 years ago when you would try to get them interested in preparedness don’t you?

“I would like to see your source for Bill Ayers being the most powerful and influential educator in America and the American system of education.”

I was the poster who made the original claim, which was something I researched last night and put together as I was going along.

I originally responded to a post which suggests Ayres influence is waning, which I contend is actually not so; although Ayres’ himself may be, his ideology bleeds through every classroom and university hall).. I should have put in a date, like since approximately 1990. Can I find those exact words to that effect quoting Ayres, the DOEd, NEA, AERA or North Central? No. Can I find the petition/pledge signatures that had over 1000 of America’s university educators signing their names in support of Ayres? No. But it existed. Can I find the number of people he has taught, funded, worked on committees with, etc., and, in turn, their acolytes in K-16 classrooms? No.

But here’s something to do to see the power of Ayres. Go look at muckety.com. Type in William Ayres. See the results? He’s not there! That is power.

But then search Dohrn. Lo, and behold, he shows up. Then, click his name, and look to see his connections....to Obama. All sweetness and light. His power lies in his ability to lie and hide his influence, like a roach infestation.

I have spoken a few times with someone whom was on the lamb with the SDS back in the day. To research him on the ‘Net, he looks like an author, a poet and a simple blogger. You don’t have to believe me, but, he is not. In fact, his power lies in his ability to misdirect and misrepresent.

As a straightforward person, I’d prefer to say that McGuffey and The Holy Bible were the most powerful architect and influences on American education. Maybe I could throw in the Texas schoolbook committee for K-12, and a couple of name school programs at universities. I can’t anymore, as what is determined as curriculum is now firmly in the hands of the radicals.

As an aside, I would not want to study history of anything now. The books and profs and teachers wouldn’t have a clue. For anyone reading this, buy the old stuff and buy used. Pre-1950. Note: Wilson and FDR are still likely to show up as good guys, though. Too bad.

>> You remember how people reacted to you 40 and 45 years ago when you would try to get them interested in preparedness don’t you? <<

Heck, people scoffed just 2 years ago. Now these same folks are part of the group. It was amazing to watch the turn around.

We’ve laid in about 2 years of food, hygiene, cloths, and other gear for about 12 people. We’re far enough away from urban centers that not much of that chaos will spill out this far; however, we’re prepared for worst case.

We realize that our supplies are just to buy time until we get other food sources (gardens, trapping, fishing) up and running. This is our fourth year gardening and we’re just starting to get good at it. It takes time and lots of hard work.

We have regular meetings to discuss our progress and see what see what steps should be taken next.

Right now, we’re light on communications and this has been discussed. We’re thinking 2-way RF radios using solar power to recharge batteries.

Americans aren’t Nazis death camp operators...

Neither were the Germans.

Until they were.

Thomas Sowell makes a point in Black Rednecks and White Liberals that there is nothing in German history, prior to the Third Reich, that provides any clue that they would ultimately be shoveling corpses into incinerators in industrial quantities.

If it could happen there, it could happen anywhere.

No, the Germans had a history of brutal culture displayed for centuries in Europe and in Africa where they were known as the most brutal of conquerors, and even WWI treatment of civilians.

I don’t agree with your assessment of Americans as Nazis death camp operators and communist mass murderers just waiting to happen here in America as soon as a Hitler candidate arises and runs for the presidency.
