What is a rocket stove?
A rocket stove is a small cooking unit that uses twigs and small debris from your yard or whatever to produce a hot cooking heat. Just google it and you will see a bunch of websites that sell them.
Look into the Bio Lite while you’re at it. It takes the rocket stove one better, with thermoelectric cells powered by heat from the fire. Part of it goes to a small fan that aids convection and produces a very clean burn, they think “green,” I think lack of visible smoke and odor.
There’s also a USB power point on the side for charging cell phones, tablets, laptops, GPS, etc. So it seems like a nice thing to have, in the event of power outages. Cooking, warmth and power small portable devices. Around $130.00 I believe. Some serious wilderness campers have critiqued the size and weight, but you wouldn’t be getting it purely for portability concerns. I’m not sure what they’re concerned about, the thing isn’t much bigger than a large water bottle, and weighs less than a full one.
Here’s the instructional video for the Bio Lite camp stove/USB charging device, they’re shipping starting July, waitlisted, price $129.00 plus shipping and any tax that might be applicable.
