Blaze Confirms: Conservative Blogger Arrested (Shortened Title)

UPDATE I: The Blaze spoke to a clerk at the District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County who confirmed that Aaron Walker was in fact arrested following his hearing with Brett Kimberlin. According to the clerk, he was arrested on second degree assault charges that were previously filed by Kimberlin when Walker, following a separate court hearing, took and held at bay Kimberlin’s iPad. Other reports on the web indicate that Walker was instead arrested for violating the “peace order” for which he was appearing in court.

Walker laid out the details of the iPad incident in both my and Glenn Beck’s interview last week. That account can be read here detailing how convicted Speedway Bomber Brett Kimberlin has been terrorizing bloggers across the country. Today, one of those victims, Aaron Walker has been arrested at court following his most recent hearing with Kimberlin, who had taken a restraining order out on the respected attorney (ironic, considering the convicted domestic terrorist was the one doing the harassing).

I don't have the time today to compose a long reply so I will try to focus on a couple of episodes. On one occasion in the last month GB opined that ‘the reason the British were begging the US for destroyers in 1940 was that Woodrow Wilson had forced the British to scrap their ships .’ It is hard to know where to begin to deconstruct the sheer ignorance and error of that statement. Apparently Beck was referring to the consequences of the 1921 Treaty of Washington on Naval Limitations which was the result of a conference on naval disarmament called by President Warren Harding in 1920. Wilson had nothing to do with it or anything else as he was a dying man, the conference represented the desires of both the US and the UK to head off an undesired naval armaments race. The shortfall in British escort vessels in the first part of WW2 was a result of the British not building even the numbers of lighter vessels they could under the treaty and starving much of their shipyard capacity that could build that sort of warship out of business in the 1920’s during the ill advised ‘construction holiday’ phase.

Another Beck classic was blathering about the later Roman Empire and alluding to Diocletian's attempts to keep the tax base from vanishing by , among other things, freezing people into hereditary occupations. Beck had no idea what he was describing and spoke of ‘Dioceltioion or who ever he was’.

Third example is another recent one in which Beck opines that the 2012 election is like the 1860 election and who will be chosen a unifier like Lincoln or a divider like Davis and by inference BHO. Whatever Lincoln was and whatever the view of the legality of secession any high school student knows that Lincoln's election was crossing the Rubicon for the Deep South as Lincoln was a specifically regional candidate and the divisive candidate par excellant.

Hysteria mongering is the constant apocalyptic chatter that revolves around extrapolating the activities of minor actors such as Van Jones and elevating them to be some sort of Beria figure waiting to unleash some sort of unimaginable horrors.

I have no use for statism and corporatism and find the administration of BHO to be a true disaster but uttering demonstrable untruths and lapsing into carpet chewing apocalyptic glossolalia is just destructive nonsense.
