And what did the French authorities do?
Muslim kids tossed pebbles at worshipers during a service. No one harmed, no damage done to the church. Disrespectful? Absolutely. That being said, I wouldn't expect our local police to step in to deal with what was essentially a group of kids disrupting a service, regardless of their nationality/religion.
