It's quite unusual for a politician to go out that far on a limb, unless of course you are Joe Biden and getting media protection. Did someone get to Bennet? I had read that the public response he got was overwhelmingly positive, so what caused the change?

My guess is he got a call from a Repubican telling him to back off, that it was losing strategy and wouldn't play well in the campaign. And if he didn't back, forget any Repubican support in the future. Am I way off or does anyone smell a Karl Rove-like aroma surrounding this?
