Five months is an awfully short time to switch candidates on the ballot. BHO at least has the momentum and spotlight; HRC may think she does but most people outside the echo chamber don’t know/care. She had the opportunity for a coup more than once; now it’s over.

Your right that 5 months is a very short time, but the party will work to defend itself.
The party is much more than the idea guy they put on the ballot in ‘08.
Baraq is also screwing other dimrats by not spreading the party’s wealth around.
We are living in jabberwocky times and I think they are capable of anything.

Over time, we will see what happens.

Can't remember now when they dumped Tom Eagleton in '72, but I do remember that was a blow from which McGovern never recovered.

There were other factors that combined to make 1972 an epic blowout, but it arguably started when the RATs threw Eagleton under the bus.
