An observation; to the best of my knowledge, no ticket that featured two Governors has ever won a Presdential election. I think the last time it was tried was 1948 with Strom Thurmond leading the Dixiecrat ticket.
I’m not sure history is a good guide for this cycle.
There seems to be a strong “anti-Washington” sentiment—at least among conservatives. A large part of the electorate feels that Washington is part of the problem, adding a senator or congressman as a veep is not going to help that.
Consider also that while Romney was a governor, he is also viewed as an establishment insider. Jindal (even though he has been active inside the GOP) has been willing to “rock the boat.” Much like Palin, he’s a GOP governor, but can be independent.
Jindal also has conservative religious views, which would balance out Romney’s Mormonism.
