Shabazz detailed his past hopes for Obama as the first African-American president, noting that Obama has not lived up to them — specifically by continuing the policies of the Bush administration in the so-called war on terror and ignoring the economic plight of black Americans

Why does Shabazz think that any money saved by pulling out of military conflicts would automaticlly be used to fix the economic plight of blacks?

Mr. Shabazz would do well to read Huey Long’s “Every man a king” speech from the early 1930’s. Redistribution of wealth, disappointment with the progressive president and appeal (though less open) to racial unity are all there. I doubt Shabazz would appreciate the irony of Huey the cracker’s speech however.

Currently entitlements take up 60%+ of the Feds annual budget while the military takes up 20%. If the military was shut down and the money transferred to entitlements that’s a potential 20% pay raise for them!
