The desire to fight back against the shockingly liberal, disgustingly statist future America appears to be bound to is strong within many in our generation. We're outnumbered, the polls and statistics don't lie, but that doesn't mean we're outgunned intellectually or morally downtrodden. In fact, I would argue that our generation's Republicans, whether they be pragmatic free-market thinkers, conservative stalwarts or libertarian-minded activists, are more energetic and willing to take on the establishment than the movement's thinkers of the past.

Will Barack Obama carry the youth vote, in spite of his all of that and his failed record? Probably, but that doesn't mean we're not going to put up one hell of a fight. The theme for the first week of this site is "Won't Be Fooled Again", because our goal is to convince as many of our friends and classmates not to repeat what happened in 2008. As for the rest, we plan to drag them along kicking and screaming.

We will be facing a political machine intent on clouding the debate with empty promises and rhetoric aimed at distorting the truth as to maintain their iron grip on young voters. Just today, Reuters published a story on how the President is playing politics with student loan interest rates to try to capture youth support:

President Barack Obama will use a tour of election battleground states next week to push Congress to prevent interest rates on federal student loans from doubling, a move that could appeal to middle-class and younger voters crucial to his re-election chances.

Obama will make his pitch in speeches at universities in North Carolina, Colorado and Iowa, three states expected to play a major role in the November election. The youth vote is a key national constituency his campaign team hopes to re-energize.

The price tag on this election-minded scheme? $6 billion a year. I say this as someone who has a substantial amount of student loan debt. I would love for interest rates to sit in the basement, but I am aware of the fiscal crisis our country is facing thanks to this President's reckless policies (and a lack of spine from both parties over the last decade). We can, and we will, convince our generation that ploys like this hurt us more than they help us in the long run. We're ready to fight, and we won't be fooled again.

Wrong word. Not "probably". "Obviously".

It is time to oppose the same sorry mistakes that McCain and the RINO Party made in 2008.

It is also time for us as Conservatives to recognize and avoid making the same sorry mistakes that WE made in 2008.

One mistake that we made in 2008 was to revert back to the old days when we were known as “The Silent Majority.” We grumbled, held our noses, and Caved-In as all good RINO sheep are expected to do.

Our Silent Caving-In in 2008 created the problem that MANY Conservatives refused to vote for McCain.

IF we behave in 2012 as RINO Sheep and Cave-In to whoever the RINOs endorse, nominate and support, then we Conservatives are no better than our RINO U.S. Representatives and Senators who always Cave-In.

This election is for ALL of the marbles! We cannot afford to play the old RINO game that caused the defeat of McCain to Marxist Obama in 2008.

Obama is much stronger politically now than he was against McCain in 2008, but the RINO Party refuses to consider that reality.

It is time to DUMP ROMNEY who is obviously to weak of a candidate to beat Obama.

The Delegates need to choose in an OPEN Convention a strong NON-RINO Nominee who can soundly defeat Obama, and coat-tail U.S. Senators and Representatives into Congress.

Romney is not that man: DUMP ROMNEY!

We must learn from the mistakes made by the McCain Campaign and rub the collective noses of the RINOs in it!

Romney is counting on the old Classical Conservative Cave-In.

I can hear Romney now: “You have no choice but to vote for me. I’ll be even more severely Conservative than I was when I rammed through Romney”care.” Trust me, I know how The Economy works. Etc, etc., etc.”

The battle to win back a CONSERVATIVE White House is starting to break wide open!

Like it or not, it's just as obvious he's currently the most viable candidate. A majority of Republican voters have so far pulled the lever for Romney in the primaries. This means conservatives are currently outnumbered within the GOP. This means we have darned little leverage to change that until we grow our numbers.

The Delegates need to choose in an OPEN Convention a strong NON-RINO Nominee who can soundly defeat Obama, and coat-tail U.S. Senators and Representatives into Congress.

If you can pull it off, I'll certainly vote for that "strong NON-RINO Nominee". But until that happens, I stick with my original plan to vote for the most viable candidate opposing Obama. Right now, as much as it stinks, that's shaping up to be Romney. Those same primary voters who have so far put Romney in the lead seem intent on voting for him in the general.

The only way to fix that is to convert those Romney voters into conservative voters. If you can't do that, your proposed "strong NON-RINO Nominee" just won't materialize. There were conservative options in the primary with Romney, yet the majority of R's *STILL* voted just like the MSM and the GOP told them to vote. That *may* be why the entire list of candidates stunk this time around -- the "strong NON-RINO" folks were smart enough to see alignment and/or gullibility of the voters.

For that matter, I imagine if you could find a "strong NON-RINO" with a sufficient level of integrity, communication skills, command-presence and natural-born *LEADERSHIP*, you would probably have to drag them kicking and screaming into a campaign. Best of luck to you!

Obama ia far more powerful as the Marxist Incumbent in 2012 than he was as the Illinois Junior Senator Nominee in 2008.

Why will the win by Obama in 2008 be different from a win by Obama in 2012?

Oops, I forgot: McCain was a “Conservative from Arizona” and Romney is a “Moderate from Massachusetts.”

My point is give me a candidate that can poll higher than the GOP's candidate among conservatives, moderates, independants, etc and I'll vote for him! Conservative voters alone can't get it done because there are too few of us. Until then, I vote for whoever has the lead among those opposing Obama and so far, that's the GOP candidate.

You’re trying to talk reasonably to 3rd party trolls who fly from thread to thread hoping to strangle a GOP win. Once you understand that none of the anti-Romney, tar baby, zombies are Republicans, it helps the argument.
