I couldn't care less what hospital in Hawaii he was born at. I just firmly believe the notion that his teenage mother took a very expensive and arduous journey by herself to a third-world country specifically to have a baby is ridiculous.
But I now think that Obama might've been playing the "Yeah, I was born in Kenya" card in his early adulthood (or, at the very least, not correcting those who referred to him as Kenyan-born) simply because with the image he was trying to project, it was cooler to have been born in Kenya than Hawaii.
Of course, things changed when he decided to enter politics. At this point, he embraced his American birth.
Yes, I believe Obama lied about where he was born. I believe he was telling people he was born in Kenya and this was the lie.
I think it might not be a bad guess that he used ‘international student’ status to get into Columbia, at least, and probably Occidental, maybe even Harvard Law.
But the lack of hospital records in Hawaii coupled with his mother returning to the Pacific Northwest with a newborn baby within a few weeks does feed into the theory that she indulged in the common practice of that time of crossing the US border for free birth under the nationalized healthcare in Canada.
For most people that wouldn’t have affected a kiddo’s citizenship, but with the claims of a Kenyan father and an 18yo American mother it would have. Conveniently Hawaii let anyone living in Hawaii register any family member as born in Hawaii at the time, so it would all fit together.
I really have no idea what the true story is, but I too am suspicious of the Kenyan birth track. I think it may be a red herring that his team tossed out there in part because he himself had made such claims in years past.
I just firmly believe the notion that his teenage mother took a very expensive and arduous journey by herself to a third-world country specifically to have a baby is ridiculous.
You forget, the people are nuts.
Yeah! Stanley Ann Dunham was the very epitome of rationality. ( sarc)
