There will be elections, and if he loses he will leave Jan 20.
The Obama may be all kinds of bad, but he does not have what it takes to take over as tyrant.

Fun to imagine he’ll try though.

According to a large number of vanitites posted on this board Obama is to be preferred over the likely GOP nominee. To this end they are tirelessly giving Obama and his supporters issues to exploit against the GOP nominee. There comes a time when those whose candidate has lost to acknowledge the democratice choice. Acceptance does not equate to enthusiastic support.

A few EMPs and it is game over (imho). It would take years to bring all the lights back

No telecommunications means no way to give orders or exert power.

Look at the burning wells in Kuwait and how long they said it would take to bring them online again.

Now think, the areas to get the lights back first won't be the coasts so much as the areas where power is generated.

Ditto other fuels, food, etc.

"Also, avoid anyone with the name Alex Jones."

Excellent advice.

I have a few intelligent friends that listen to him and their thought processes are obviously colored with Jones' doomsday mindset.

...”I am not saying I know these things WILL happen, I am asking for actual non smartass replies with some reasoning behind them”...

In a world where more and more FR responses look like teen-aged texts than thoughtful contemplation of the subject matter, what can you expect? The torch has passed to the new generation. Of course some of the scenarios you mention could happen. Anyone who has closely watched the past three years has to be concerned about attempted dictatorship. For those who know history, giving more and more ground to a would-be despot without proper concern, is what people do. Personally, I think the military would move in if an overt attempt was made. That is my comfort. A more immediate problem is the racial lawlessness which is going on without any response from the AG. Did you read the story posted earlier about the rape and murder of the elderly couple and what about the two reporters in VA who were beaten up and the story was covered up by the newspaper and other powers-that-be?..The people who do not want us to know the truth are our enemies. Do not be intimidated when you post your thoughts about the “potentials” out there. Think of where medicine, for example, would be without consideration of the “potentials.”
In spite of the generational changes going on, FR is still the best place to go to get the truth.

When Bill Clinton ran for reelection in 1996 there was all sorts of chatter that he would, through executive order, cancel the election. Same thing the left said in 2004. Never happened. Won’t happen in 2012.

If he loses there will be an orderly change of power. And we get The White Horse

Who is "we"? Conservatives lose either way.

The Feds play no part in the election. The individual states are responsible for holding the election. Obama would be starting a civil war if he attempted to bar the states from holding an election. He may disrupt some polling stations with his Black Panthers & the like, but he cannot stop 50+ elections.

Obama intends to steal the election through fraudulent voters, hacking the results, & contesting the vote in court. He only has to be successful at this in a few key precincts to win. That the Pubs are running such a weak candidate as Romney makes the cheating more likely to succeed.

If Obama loses despite his massive cheating, he will wreak havoc on this country in his remaining days; pardoning numerous crooks & killers (Corzine & Jamal are at the top of the list), & blatantly using executive orders to further destroy America. I fully expect the display of “sour grapes” to go down in history as the most disgraceful act of any former President. If you think the Clinton trashing of the White House was deplorable, wait until we see what the exiting Obama administration does.

Please feel free to answer any/all issues I raise.

I was merely trying to address and show proof of the underlying issue, that a crisis caused by the failing economy will necessitate he implement emergency measures (never let a crisis go to waste).

Maybe you'll have a better day today...

Ditto. People like Jones are in the fear business and that plays right into the government's hands. The government doesn't need to have some big conspiracy of camps and 'civil wars', all they need to do is keep enough people afraid they could do this and they are dis-empowered to stand up. Of course, some people just like to live in fear. Others, actually root for CWII to live some fantasy of donning the blue and gray and shooting someone. Those are the ones to really worry about as they often try to fulfill their own prophesy.

That's a good point. Obama may not need to cheat if self-professed conservatives either vote for him, or just stay home.

I'd be curious to see the overlap between the "I'm sitting this one out" and "Obama won't leave office" crowd.

The rest just sounds like the same thing the left was saying about Bush, and is fanciful for the same reasons.

"The Left," as you call them, frequently imputes their own nefarious thinking to those they perceive to be their enemies.

Way before Clintoon. If you have access to archives of old Bircher publications, Ron Paul newsletters, Krassner's underground papers, you'll see these kind of fears have been promoted for a long time. Almost word for word, they all have predicted a second civil war, cancelling of elections, concentration camps, UN taking over the government, and all sorts of stuff like this. The only difference is now with the internet, more people have access to these type of fearmongers and it is easier to pass it along.

You are too new here to remember this, but there was a thing called "Hillary's Secret Warriors"; DNC infiltrators who try to split the base, spread false stories, and cause normal discord to influence votes. There was actually a book about it and the forward even mentioned Free Republic as one of their main targets. (no longer in print).
