Vanity - I miss Bush
Me

Posted on 04/27/2012 6:40:25 AM PDT by trebb

Just saw a FOX newscast showing President Bush doing the bike ride with wounded vets. The interviewer on site mentioned it was a way of being inspirational to them and others. We all know how Obummer would have jumped on it to say how he was really into being inspitational, and would have turned it into a major "I/Me" barf alert. But, being the humble, military loving and respecting person he is, President Bush merely said, "I get inspiration from them". He then turned away and got on with the task at hand - riding with and respecting our military heroes.

God how I miss, despite the liberal social issues, how he brought class and decorum to the Presidency.

Oh who cares what you think I'm not interested. I don't owe you anything about my opinion. Go bother someone else.

You clearly do not have the disposition to even be on a message board. You debated my point, I responded, and now you are acting like I started it. Grow up.

Absolutely! Amen. That's the main point of the OP's post, after all; I seriously doubt that trebb was trying to wall-paper over President Bush's bad decisions... but is it so very hard to admit that President Bush is a good and honourable man, and that his character (not to damn with faint praise) makes those of the presidents before and after him seem downright maggot-ridden, by comparison? God bless and keep him, and I miss him, too.

Thanks - you and some others got my intent/reasoning for the vanity. All the others can vent about the obvious flaws and I understand and even agree, but the lower-than-trailer-trash we have now, and seeing President Bush still being humble and classy was what prompted me to toss it out. I also agree that The Gipper set the bar that all others since have yet to even approach.

Thanks for your post.

President Bush was a giant in what could have been a very dark time in history.

He took on the challenge and led the world with dignity and class.

He was so far ahead that all his enemies (MSM) could do was snipe at his flanks and they used lies about the economy do do it.

They fooled many on the middle and the right, but I was never fooled for a minute by their tactics because I expected them all along.

President Bush will be noted as one of the greats in history and he can rest easy for the rest of his days because he served with honor. Have a great day.

In 2008, when Bush was still president, the Detroit Lions went 0 - 16, the worst record in NFL history.

In 2009 while still reeling from the Bush years, Obama was able to lift the Lions to a 2 - 14 record.

Still on a roll, in 2010, Obama was able to inspire the Lions to an even better year where they went 6 - 10.

Finally, for the first time since 2000 (when Clinton was president), the Lions were over .500 when the mesiah Obama miraculously lifted the Lions to a 10 - 6 record and a first playoff appearance since 1999 under Clinton.

And it should also be mentioned that there was not one single year that the lions ever had an above .500 season while President Reagan was in office.........

There you have it, Obama and the democraps are good for the Lions......

Screw the Lions (my team), I miss President Bush too.........

I find it refreshing that this man has observed the unwritten courtesy that ex-presidents do not comment on the actions of a current seated president.

President Bush has successfully adhered to that policy and has gone about his business supporting his personal causes without fanfare.

President Bush is truly a Texas gentleman...

Bush bears much blame for the election of the current occupants of the the WH.

I always thought it was the fall of the housing industry, Fannie and Freddie, both under the oversight of Barney Frank and the House Financial Services Committee......(or should I say "lack of oversight")

In case you've forgotten, it was the Bush administration that proposed tighter regulation on both those companies while Barney argued that neither one of them were facing any financial crisis. Frank also complained that the administration was more concerned about financial safety than about housing.

And of course we know how that ended up.......

So please, put the blame where it belongs, straight on the lap of Barney Frank and the House Financial Services Committee, not the Bush Administration...........

Totally agree with your post. President Bush had his flaws, but he is always loves our military and has been a gentleman.

President Bush and the Former First Lady Laura have always been a class act. Not eternal running embarassments and ticking off our allies like the indulgent Odumers.

I am glad that he lives back here in the Metroplex. We enjoy seeing the Bushes at the Ranger games.

Hey, don't mind me . . . I'm simply pointing out your logical fallacy. I can see why you would react this way.

You have a problem with Bush. Ok. You blame him for Obama. Fail.

Again, judging from your response, probably not. You appear simply to dislike hearing of errors in your reasoning.

It goes like this. You have problems with Bush. That's ok, most do. But to call Obama the "natural result" of Bush is a knee-jerk reaction. You are taking those problems you have with Bush and hanging them on the most convenient person available. Much like claiming one football team is the result of another.

I have written extensively on this issue, starting way before Obama was elected, predicting this would happen and why. I have written on it after as well. To much acclaim. The number one radio host in the world started his show the day after the election with the words “well friends, the new tone has come home to roost” - a line pulled from my article of that day outlining just this.

My work on this is widely quoted and acclaimed. Yours is not.
Bye now.

George W. Bush executed the war in Iraq. Barack Obama campaigned against it, and was elected. A "natural result" of Bush policy? One that, in order to avoid, required a proactive change in the policy itself?

Surely, in all of your extensive writing about this issue, you accounted for the inconsistency in your reasoning?

No Nimrod, my theory never rested on any lame brained idea that everything Bush did was wrong or that EVERYTHING Bush did lead to Obama. It did not.

You are a child. You argue is pathetic little kindergarten absolutes and false choices. You have cost me IQ points just trying to stoop to your level. I am done with you, period.

"Obama is the natural result of Bush and Rove and their 'new tone' and other idiotic things they did."

"pathetic little kindergarten absolutes," indeed.

You are obviously too stupid to know the difference between a generalization and an absolute.
