Of course I am paraphrasing Goerings famous quote about culture and I also recognise that in a personal capacity I am usually willing to trust the doctor who repairs my hernia or the plumber who fixes my boiler because the chances are they know more about hernias and boilers than I do for they are dealing with them every day.
No, the experts I would love to threaten are the ones beloved of the media because they need a gap filled in the programme or on the page. [We’ve seen that kind of “news” for over 5 years now.]
“Expert” You know what they say about experts. Ex means “used to be”, and a spurt is just a drip under pressure.
I remember the food nazis er “experts” scaring everyone to death with their anti-dairy products scam of the eighties. You had people not eating eggs, milk, any kind of dairy product for fear they’d drop over dead from a heart attack minutes after ingesting just one of the forbidden foods. Ten years later the uh experts backtracked and allowed that you could eat five or more eggs a week before you were struck by the big one. I never stopped eating dairy products, because I knew moderation was the key to all foods. Many “experts” are simply overeducated busybodies hoping to become famous. Paul (The Population Bomb) Ehrlich was the worst, but he won’t be the last.
