I think there are now quite assured mechanical ways of determining whose voice is on the tape.

People speak in very unique ways...almost as identifiable as retinal scan.

Actually the military has great technology in the voice identity area. Family worked on the satellite that tracked Osama’s voice on cell phones. NYT revealed it to the world, but according to the family member the NYT only thought they knew what the technology was capable of doing. It's much more .....;~)
